38 - Unbalanced Square Root (2-7)

Unbalanced Square Root
My math loving coworker tried out another math puzzle on us. Obviously the result is not correct, but unlike the "365 Project: 21 - Fuzzy Math" unbalanced equation there is actually a way to fix this one. Can you tell where it becomes unbalanced and can you tell what needs to be fixed to balance out this equation?

Answer: When you take the square root of something you have to take the "positive and negative" values as well (+/-).

Well, the square root of 1 can be 1, or -1 :) So the fourth step is wrong. You can't simply assume that the square root of 1 (either in the numerator or denominator) is 1.
