#57 - Demolished Grassy Field (2/26)

Demolished Grassy Field
Sadness.  We had a beautiful walking path, around a grassy field, near our office.  When the weather was good, I would walk this path every day that I could.  Now the grassy field is being demolished to put in new office buildings.

This is a previous photo of the walking path:

More photos of the destruction, including a hole large enough to fit a semi truck:

What can I say, it was a very slow day, and not much else to take a picture of.

#51 - Unlimited Cup (2/20)

Unlimited Yogurt Cup
After accumulating enough points, I was awarded an "Unlimited Yogurt Cup", which allowed me to put as much yogurt as I could fit into one cup, for free.  Challenge Accepted.  I piled on the yogurt until I could no longer fit the tower under the yogurt dispenser, and then I used a spoon to heap even more on.

Normally we will get somewhere between 8 and 12 oz of yogurt.  This giant mess was 62.1 oz, just shy of 4 pounds of yogurt.

If you are curious, no I did not eat all that yogurt.  Each layer was a flavor chosen by my kids, with mine on the bottom, so they ended up eating everything visible above the cup.

#50 - Here Comes the Snow (2/19)

Here Comes the Snow
I was just commenting yesterday how beautiful our February weather was turning out to be, with no snow anywhere in sight.  We even took the motorcycle out for several rides this last weekend.  I should have knocked on wood.

...update...

And hours later, just as quickly as it came, the blizzard and snow are all but gone.

And there Goes the Snow

ATV trails off of Bacchus Highway (Hwy 111) in West Valley City, Utah
For Presidents day we went off-roading, with the motorcycle, on the ATV trails just off Bacchus Highway.

It had just rained the day before, so the trails were a bit muddy and slippery.  Ended up dumping the motorcycle once, with only slight injuries.

#44 - Overloaded (2/13)

Overloaded
The ratings on power strips do matter.  We bought a new portable electric heater, to go under my wife's desk to warm her toes, and didn't realize it was a 13 Amp heater.  With the combination of the heater and the computer/monitor/speakers, it was an amp or two over the rating of the power strip.  Above is the result.  We are just lucky it didn't start a fire or fry any of the computer equipment.

#42 - Phone Books (2/11)

Phone Books - A Long Forgotten Necessity
Phone Books were once an important necessity, before cell phones and the Internet.  For some reason, they are still being distributed, to which mailbox owners are kindly returning them in large piles at the Post Office.

38 - Unbalanced Square Root (2-7)

Unbalanced Square Root
My math loving coworker tried out another math puzzle on us. Obviously the result is not correct, but unlike the "365 Project: 21 - Fuzzy Math" unbalanced equation there is actually a way to fix this one. Can you tell where it becomes unbalanced and can you tell what needs to be fixed to balance out this equation?

Answer: When you take the square root of something you have to take the "positive and negative" values as well (+/-).

Even though the Broncos were slaughtered (Seattle Seahawks 43 to Denver Broncos 8) the majority at the party were still rooting for them.
